We've heard ALL the HORROR stories about bad contractors. Even some of our family members have been victims. So trust us when we say we understand the risk you take when you hire a builder. Which is exactly why we are dedicated to maintaining open communication, transparent building methods, and honest business practices.

Our Story
In the early 70's a man named Stan Jencks built a cabin. He dug the basement, and stacked brick after brick to build the foundation. He laid joists and plywood for the floors, and stood tall beams to form the walls and roof. The process took years.
But he had help. The most important help of all - family. This dream to build a cabin was not his dream. It was THEIR dream. And so as often as they could manage, his wife and 5 kids travelled up Big Cottonwood Canyon to work on the cabin, one nail at a time.
Soon the cabin stood proudly - a sign of the Jencks family unity and toil! But they didn't know then what the cabin would become... By the early 2000's the cabin was THE FAMILY GATHERING SPOT for all summer holidays and vacations! Grandkids and great grandkids filled the small space with sleeping bags, aromas of potato salad, and laughter. This was what the cabin was made for!
In 2015 Stan Jencks passed away, leaving behind the cabin and his legacy.
But the story doesn't end there. When the cabin was completed in the 70's it had been given a name - a combination of the Jencks last name, and the Aspen grove the cabin was built in. The name was JASPEN.
So when this company was founded in 2019, Stan's grandson, Reuben Jensen, named the company after his family legacy of honesty and hardwork!
Meet the Founder
Reuben Jensen
Reuben grew up in Pocatello Idaho, and graduated from Highland Highschool in 2003. He worked for companies like KPVI News 6, and Jive Communications, until he pursued his real passion - construction. In 2015 he attended UVU for Construction Management, and was hired on with the award winning home builder - Magleby Construction. Armed with textbook knowledge, real world experience, and a passion for building, he founded Jaspen in 2019 and got to work.
